According to the Centers for Disease Prevention, construction occupations have the highest rate of suicide, as well as the highest number of suicides across all occupational groups. Now is the time to join together and address mental health and to recognize suicide as a safety priority by creating safe cultures, providing training and access to resources to identify and help those at risk, raising awareness about the suicide crisis in construction and normalizing conversations around suicide and mental health.
As we continue to shine as beacons of hope for others, we should keep in mind, that we serve our communities and families best when we show up as the best version of ourselves. It is imperative to take care of ourselves, while serving the needs of our company and communities.
