According to the Centers for Disease Prevention, construction occupations have the highest rate of suicide, as well as the highest number of suicides across all occupational groups. Now is the time to join together and address mental health and to recognize suicide as a safety priority by creating safe cultures, providing training and access to resources to identify and help those at risk, raising awareness about the suicide crisis in construction and normalizing conversations around suicide and mental health.
As we continue to shine as beacons of hope for others, we should keep in mind, that we serve our communities and families best when we show up as the best version of ourselves. It is imperative to take care of ourselves, while serving the needs of our company and communities. Compiled here are suggestions, tips and resources we can consider to keep ourselves physically, mentally and emotionally healthy.

A recent survey commissioned Clayco has uncovered mental health challenges faced by construction workers across the United States. The survey of over 1,000 American construction workers sheds light on the prevalence of anxiety and depression in the workplace. Many individuals are turning to substances to cope, the survey reveals, feeling that there are few available resources to adequately support their mental health.
