Solution
By partnering with CCDI and our mission, we work with businesses, schools and organizations to help create an environment where those interested in the construction industry can enter and be successful and retained. We will help our industry partners continue their efforts to grow the local workforce by supplying the right training and mentorship to underrepresented and underemployed young adults in our community, as well as support educators and classrooms with the tools and resources to create real-world learning opportunities for students to build their future.
The construction industry is facing a workforce shortage
Our Goal
”
“
Being a part of the CCDI program changed my life. I had the opportunity to job shadow, complete a summer internship, network with industry leaders and ultimately start my career in the painting trades. With the help of my mentors, my goal is to be a minority business owner and help to influence those in my community about careers in construction
D'VON JOHNSON,
Class of 2019, CCDI
CCDI’s mission is to bring diversity to the design and construction industry by mentoring and exposing minority, underrepresented and underserved students to career development in construction. Our guiding principles include: One-on-one mentorship, raising awareness for construction opportunities, spread knowledge about the industry and provide life skills training needed to succeed, assist with job placement, and encourage young adults to be lifelong learners.
Fulfilling a Need
Our mentorship emphasizes academic goals. We encourage jobseekers to pursue two- or four-year degrees, focusing on tuition assistance.
Job
Placement
With CCDI, training and mentorship are just the beginning. We provide the support and direction jobseekers need to successfully find work.
Building
Awareness
Jobs in construction span a diverse range of disciplines and applications. We work to raise awareness of the various trade apprentice programs.
Real World Experience
We go beyond the classroom. We get jobseekers into real-world work environments for the most valuable career training.
