The Clayco Foundation is a non-profit entity that supports multiple charitable organizations in the communities where Clayco is actively engaged in business. Its focus is to genuinely leave a positive impact on our world. The Clayco Foundation formed the Juneteenth Program and advisory committee to assist the foundation in its solicitation and investment in education, awareness, and causes related to promoting anti-racism.
About our program
Juneteenth is a holiday celebrated on June 19 to commemorate the emancipation of enslaved people in the US. The holiday was first celebrated in Texas, where on that date in 1865, in the aftermath of the Civil War, enslaved people were declared free under the terms of the 1862 Emancipation Proclamation. On Juneteenth, we look back and recognize the sacrifices and successes of the Black community. As we recognize and confront our collective past, we move on to a more just, equitable and brighter future.
