About St. Louis Lambert International Airport
The St. Louis Airport Authority (STLAA) has approved a master plan that identifies a Consolidated Terminal Program (CTP). Two separate Construction Management at Risk (CMAR) firms will be selected to manage the work – one will manage the preferred terminal alternative and the other will manage the landside improvements.
The preferred terminal alternative consolidates all airlines into an efficient single terminal with a linear concourse accommodating up to 62 narrow-body equivalent gates. The Airport intends to retain the iconic domes of Terminal 1, which will become the centerpiece for a vastly improved customer experience. The budget for this portion of the work is between $2 Billion and $2.5 Billion.
The landside improvements portion of the work is a complete reconstruction of means of vehicular access to the terminal. This includes a reconfiguration and replacement of all of the roadways leading to the terminal as well as a phased replacement of the existing parking garages and adding additional parking capacity. The estimate for this portion of the work is between $500 Million and $1 Billion.
