WHAT TYPES OF PROGRAMS DO THE CAVALIERS OFFER?
The Cleveland Cavaliers proudly offers a variety of youth basketball programs for players of all skill levels. These include camps, clinics, leagues, tournaments and individual and small group training packages. Whether you’re new to the game or a seasoned veteran, we surely have a program that will suit your basketball needs.
WHO ARE THE INSTRUCTORS?
The Cavaliers youth basketball staff is comprised of a variety of basketball experts. Instructors include current and former college players, local college and high school coaches, professional and semi-pro players, referees, trainers and other basketball personnel. All coaches screened to ensure participant safety and an overview of playing/coaching credentials can be viewed in our Coaches Corner section.
Note: For Junior Cavaliers, leagues are operated by third parties. For questions pertaining to their coaches and staff, please check with the individual league.
WHERE ARE THE SESSIONS LOCATED?
Locations vary by program and physical street addresses are always listed online and/or on the program collateral. All programs are held indoors.
DO YOU OFFER PRE OR POST-CAMP CARE?
Unfortunately we do not as the rental agreements we have in place require us to be in and out of the facility by a certain time. Therefore, participants should be dropped off no earlier than 20 minutes prior to the start of the session and must be picked up promptly at its conclusion.
HOW ARE PARTICIPANTS SEPARATED DURING CAMP?
Following an initial evaluation, campers are grouped by age and ability to ensure that each individual is playing alongside others of a similar skill level. For beginners, an emphasis is placed on developing sound fundamentals while more advanced players will be challenged to improve their overall skill set. Cleveland Cavaliers Basketball Camps are suitable for both boys and girls of all skill levels within the specified age ranges.
CAN YOU TELL ME MORE ABOUT MY CHILD’S FREE TICKET?
Only select clinics will include a ticket for a home Cavs game for events including a ticket You will be contacted by the Cavaliers via the information provided at registration with details on how to redeem your child s free ticket. You will also have the opportunity to purchase additional discounted tickets for family and friends and can upgrade your tickets if we have upgraded tickets available. Tickets will be delivered to redeemers via e-mail. (Also, should you have interest in season ticket packages, partial plans or group outings, please contact smacdonald@cavs.com.)
WHAT DO I NEED TO BRING TO CAMP?
Participants should come dressed in a t-shirt, athletic shorts and sneakers. Players will only be given a basketball at the clinics/camp if they bought a basketball in advance. Otherwise, you must bring your own basketball. Each player should bring a refillable water bottles with their name labeled on it. Participants should leave valuables at home as the Cavaliers cannot be responsible for such items. They may of course bring any medications they may need.
WHAT DOES A TYPICAL CAMP DAY CONSIST OF?
While at camp, participants will experience the following activities: a dynamic stretch and warm-up to ensure players are prepared for the day’s activities; a round of stations to reinforce fundamental skills such as ball handling, defense, shooting and rebounding; conditioning drills to improve quickness, agility and endurance; a skills lecture and application; 5-on-5 exhibitions to apply learned skills in a live game setting; and various contests and fun competitions.
WILL THE CAVALIERS PLAYERS BE THERE?
When possible, select Cavaliers players will visit certain programs to interact with participants. Additionally, Cav celebrities such as Moondog, Sir CC, the Cavaliers girls and Cavaliers Legends alumni may also visit from time to time. While we make every effort to secure player visitation, appearances are in no way implied nor guaranteed and remain subject to availability due to the players’ rigorous practice, game and offseason training schedules.
WHAT IS THE CANCELLATION/REFUND POLICY?
Policies change from time to time and may vary based on the program. For the most current information, please inquire via the phone number and/or e-mail address found on the particular program’s webpage and/or collateral.
I AM NOT FROM OHIO, CAN I STILL COME TO CAMP?
The Cavaliers embraces diversity and welcomes participants from all over the world. In the past few years alone, our camps have hosted has hosted campers from countries such as Indonesia, Greece, Brazil, Russia and Spain. Whether coming as an individual or a group, Cavaliers camps are open to all. (For those traveling in groups, please contact youthhoops@cavs.com for assistance.)
ARE SCHOLARSHIPS AVAILABLE?
We have very limited funds for scholarships. If you are interested in applying for scholarships, please email youthhoops@cavs.com. The subject of the email should say scholarship and the location of the camp you would like to attend. In the email please tell us the circumstances of why you are applying for a scholarship and how much you can afford to pay toward the camp.

Our goal is to acclimate your child to spending time on the court and introduce the FUN of playing team sports. They’ll develop their physical agility and coordination, learn the importance of teamwork and following directions, and gain confidence and new friends through our on-court programming.
With one-hour clinics or local leagues, there’s a Cavalittles option for everyone.

Cavs Academy Clinics are a great way to introduce your young athlete to the game, advance their skills on the hardwood, or just get in a fun workout with their friends. Open to all skill levels for ages 8-14, Cavs Academy Clinics will take your youth through a series of dynamic warm ups, skills and drills training, and small-group game play. Led by our Cavs Academy coaching staff, your athlete will have the time of their life and walk away with a new-found love for the game of basketball.
Options available October through May include Cavs Academy Clinics, All-Girls Jr. WNBA Clinics, and VIP Clinics on the Cavs Court at RMFH!

The Jr. Cavs program represents a united community of dedicated teams, coaches, parents, and players who share a common goal: to grow through the positive benefits attained through the game of basketball. With partner programs throughout the region, there are over 100 communities who host Jr. Cavs leagues. The majority of leagues are eight weeks in length, coed teams for ages 4 – 12, and take place in the fall and winter months, October – March. Jr. Cavs is a great way to introduce your young athlete to the benefits of team play, placing them in a fun environment from which they can learn and grow as athletes and teammates.
Pricing varies by location and all athletes receive a reversible Jr. Cavs Jersey and two (2) Loudville tickets to a select 2024-25 Cavs home game.

OVERTIME
A study published by the American Journal of Preventive Medicine found afterschool physical activity programs are the most impactful way to reduce risk of obesity in children ages 6 – 12. The Cavs Academy Overtime Program is our commitment to meet student athletes where they are by providing a fun, competitive and engaging basketball atmosphere that supports their physical and mental health and wellness. This four-week program takes place after school for one hour and is run by a team of basketball coaches comprised of former college, high school and professional athletes & coaches. They will provide a competitive environment that promotes teamwork, individual accomplishment, and healthy living, allowing themselves to be the best version of themselves on and off the court.
