Garland made the game-winning shot, a 31-foot three-pointer, as time expired that gave the Cavs a 118-115 victory at Detroit on Feb. 5. It was his first game-winning shot at the buzzer of his NBA career and the first by any Cavalier since Max Strus’s 59-foot buzzer beater on Feb. 27, 2024 vs. Dallas. Garland scored 18 points in the final frame.

Garland has scored 8+ PTS in the final period on 24 occasions. He helped the Cavs overcome an 18-point deficit against Brookly on March 11, scoring 18 of his 30 points in the 4th quarter, and added eight assists and a season-high tying four steals in the victory. In a win over Tornonto on Jan. 9, Garland tallied a season-best 40 points (14-22 FG, 4-7 3FG), to go along with nine assists and two steals in 36 minutes. Garland became just the 4th player in Cavs history to record 5+ games of 40 points or more, joining LeBron James, Donovan Mitchell, and Kyrie Irving.

15-0 HISTORIC START: During Cleveland’s historic 15-0 start, Garland averaged 21.4 PPG and 7.0 APG while shooting a remarkable .525 FG%, .455 3FG% and .932 FT%. No other player in Cavaliers history or this NBA season have reached those numbers in the first 15 games of a campaign.
