From Munich she took a quick drive to the beautiful old Medieval town of Regensburg. She explored the UNESCO World Heritage area of the Old Town, and awed in all the incredibly history and amazing architecture.

On the last leg of her journey Marianna stopped in the city of Mainz before heading back to Frankfurt. Mainz is famous for its university, its Roman heritage, and its status as a media hub and state capital.

Finally to her main destination, Bayreuth. Marianna spent 2 days exploring this incredible town and all it has to offer, including; stunning palaces, historical parks, the famous Festival Theatre, the Hermitage with its water features and numerous museums, and more.

A quick 20 minutes away is Weimar, one of Germany's historical intellectual capitals. Weimar is the star of Germany's and Europe's intellectual past and is intrinsically linked with big names like Goethe, Schiller, and Gropius.

Her first stop was the Medieval town of Erfurt. Situated at the crossroads of ancient trade routes, the capital of Thuringia has always been a meeting place and home of important intellectuals and a magnet for visitors from around the world.

On his way back to Berlin he stopped in Germany’s easternmost city in the state of Brandenburg. Cottbus is well known for its stunning 12th century architectural and it’s whimsical Branitz Park.

Burg Spreewald
First stop, was the officially recognised spa town of Burg, which lies in the UNESCO Spreewald Biosphere Reserve and is known throughout the country for its salt spring and myriad of outdoor activities. It was the perfect place for a quick city escape.

Next up was his primary destination, Dresden where he spent three days exploring everything from the cities beautiful reconstructed old town, a myriad of incredible palaces and parks, and even enjoyed some local wine!

Moritzburg Castle
Tanveer took a quick trip back in time with a ride on the historic gauge railway to the breathtaking Moritzburg Castle. The stately building stands proudly on a man-made island in the middle of a little lake, and is the perfect fairytale day trip from the city.

Pillnitz Palace
and Park
Just a short steamboat trip from Dresden's city center is the idyllic Pillnitz Palace and Park, a charming park and with three uniquely fascinating and stunning palaces.

Wackerbarth Castle
For a day of good food and drink, Tanveer explored the Wackerbarth Castle and Vineyard. What awaits visitors at the foot of the vineyard in Radebeul truly seems legendary: the unique ensemble of a stately home and a belvedere, Baroque gardens and a modern factory for making wine and sparkling wine in the middle of the lovely landscape of Saxony’s Elbe Valley.
