With the OPUS ticketing system, Gatineau became the first North American city to offer contactless cards in its public transport network. We worked with Quebec’s seven transportation networks — Montreal (STM), Laval (STL), Longueuil (RTL), Joliette (MRCJT), Quebec (RTC), Levis (STLévis) and the Montreal Metropolitan Transportation Network (Exo) — to operate and modernize their system. To date, 19 operators accept the OPUS card on their network.
