LIFE STAGE: In his late 50s to early 70s, in the final stretch of his career.
GENERAL HEALTH: He is getting older and struggles with high blood pressure, diabetes and chronic pain.
GOALS AND VALUES: Looking forward to retirement, but he really appreciates the health benefits CoorsTek provides. He gets frustrated when his doctor is booked and often goes to urgent care if he can’t get a convenient appointment.
HEALTHCARE CONCERNS: He sees his primary care provider frequently and the bills are adding up. He wonders about lower-cost alternatives.

What about medical coverage once I retire?
:
If you are 65 or older, you can contact Medicare to determine possible benefits. If you’re not sure what Medicare coverage is right for you, we have a partnership with Aetna (all employees are eligible) to help you navigate and purchase Medicare programs. If you’re under 65, you can also reach out to ViaBenefits to help you navigate the world of Medicare and identify medical plans for pre-65 retirees. CoorsTek has been contributing to your Health Savings Account if you’re in a CDHP plan, and the IRS allows an increased contribution for those 55 and over. Make sure you’re saving into your HSA. You can use your pre-tax funds to not only lower your taxable income, but pay for qualifying medical expenses pre-tax as well. It can grow and be invested like your 401k. Visit Discovery Benefits for more information.
