In the heart of Inwood, where the Harlem River bends gently past leafy streets and historic charm, a new chapter in uptown living is unfolding. Miramar, envisioned by the celebrated Beyer Blinder Belle Architects, introduces a residential experience that feels both grounded and elevated. Its architecture nods to timeless craftsmanship, while interiors are attuned to the rhythms of modern life. 85,000 square feet of amenities, including three garden courtyards, have been thoughtfully considered as quiet sanctuaries within the urban thrum.Residences at Miramar include studio, one-, two-, and three-bedroom apartments, as well as flexible one-bedroom-plus-home-office layouts. Interiors are designed with clean lines and natural finishes, and many units feature oversized windows that bring in abundant light and frame views of the Harlem River, Inwood Hill Park, or the city skyline. Kitchens are equipped with modern appliances and generous storage, while bathrooms are finished with understated, durable materials.
The building’s amenity offerings are considerable. Inside, there’s a fitness center, yoga studio, and wellness lounge — along with a karaoke space, art studio, and soundproof music studio to practice their instrument of choice. Co-working spaces are available for those working remotely, and a media lounge and children’s playroom support a range of household needs. Outside, three landscaped courtyard gardens invite residents to read, relax, or meet their neighbors. Two rooftop terraces and a top-floor deck feature grilling stations and river views. Miramar also hosts a live-in superintendent, concierge services, valet parking, and secure bike storage. Did we mention the building is pet friendly?
Notably, Miramar will also be home to the People’s Theatre, a new performing arts venue that will bring cultural programming directly into the building. The facility is envisioned as a space for performance, dialogue, and community gathering. Its presence reflects a broader ambition for the project: to create not just a place to live, but a place that contributes meaningfully to the cultural life of Upper Manhattan.
One of the defining qualities of Miramar is its location — not just for its access to green space, but for its layered sense of history. Inwood sits at the northern tip of Manhattan, where the grid gives way to hills, forests, and traces of the city’s earliest chapters. Inwood Hill Park, just blocks away, contains Manhattan’s last natural forest. Fort Tryon Park, to the south, is home to The Met Cloisters and offers sweeping views of the Hudson River. Inwood is also home to one of New York’s most significant historic residences: the Dyckman Farmhouse, built in 1784 and today the last remaining Dutch colonial farmhouse in Manhattan. Miramar’s site itself was, historically, home to the Miramar Pool, a 1920s Mission Revival recreation complex billed as “The World’s Largest Saltwater Pool.”
Despite the neighborhood’s quiet character, Miramar offers superior connectivity to the rest of the city along with the greater tri-state area. The 207th Street stop on the 1 train is right outside the building, with A train service available three blocks away at Broadway. Miramar also sits directly next door to the University Heights Bridge, putting Metro-North’s Hudson Line — and a 20-minute express ride to Grand Central — just a few hundred feet away. For drivers, the Major Deegan and Henry Hudson Parkways are easily reached. It’s also worth noting that the building sits above the congestion pricing zone, making it one of the more practical locations in Manhattan to keep a car.
