WHAT TESTS ARE DONE TO ENSURE A HIGH-QUALITY SEED TREATMENT
Flowability test
Identify and reduce issues when handling threated seeds in packages, conveyance equipment or planters. Predict the grower and treater applicator experience eliminating unforeseen challenges. Understand the flow characteristics right after treating to improve packaging processes and the handling.
Plantability test
This test allows to predict the results that the treated seed will have on the field. They determine the number of inaccuracies such as failure or double seed drops, occurring within a given distance.
Loading rate analysis
It’s used to determine the accuracy of the application of seed treatment chemicals using chromatography method. It evaluates if the product is well distributed in all the seeds. It’s an additional tool for seed production facilities to check the quality of applications and improving the best practices.
Seed Safety
It is to ensure that all Corteva recipes has no negative effect on the germination and vigor of plantules during storage time in different genetic material. They do this to check if the seed might not have some sort of sensibility for that specific seed treatment recipe.
