Inatreq active is created from the soil-borne Actinobacterium Streptomyces spp.
The streptomycetes are found in large numbers in the soil and help to decompose plant debris. The released geosmin creates the typical "soil smell". The bacteria contribute to the formation of humus through these decomposition processes.
In order to protect itself from other competing microorganisms, such as bacteria and fungi, the bacterium produces a special active ingredient.
At Corteva Agriscience's research facilities, this active ingredient was isolated and found not only to be active in soil, but also to have excellent activity against important crop diseases.
Inatreq active is manufactured using the latest fermentation technology. The bacterial strains are multiplied with the help of bio-incubators and then fermented. Thus, large amounts of this special active substance can be obtained.
The purified natural product is stabilized and optimized for use in the field with the help of a chemical modification (addition of an aldehyde group).
This is how the natural product Inatreq becomes active.
If Inatreq active gets inside the plant or encounters fungal pathogens, the aldehyde group splits off again.
This is how Inatreq active becomes an effective natural product again.
