How Michigan's Health Plans are Working for a Healthier State

The state’s health insurers are working to improve outcomes for Michiganders through better access to services and medications, health equity, person-centered care, and building a robust health industry workforce. Their goals include building healthier communities across the state.
Those were the major themes at the Michigan Association of Health Plans annual conference in Traverse City July 18-21. The organization, a nonprofit corporation established to promote the interests of member health plans, provides leadership for the promotion and advocacy of high quality, affordable, accessible health care for the citizens of Michigan. The annual event celebrated achievements in the industry among the state’s health care insurance providers and industry advocates and looked ahead to what legislative and policy changes could bring to the industry.
