New controls and checks on the import of Sanitary and Phytosanitary (SPS) goods started on 30 April as part of the Border Target Operating Model (BTOM). Traders importing products in scope e.g. meats and cheeses must ensure they are clear on their obligations.

The National Audit Office (NAO) has published a report measuring how successful the UK government’s implementation of a new trade border with the EU has been. As part of their independent audit, the NAO has highlighted the numerous delays and significant financial cost faced due to this post-Brexit measure.

The deadline to respond to the UK Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism (CBAM) consultation is on 13 June 2024. We encourage businesses to provide their feedback and we are happy to support in preparing or reviewing your response.
