Here’s what we announced
Cummins has more than 2,000 fuel cell installations across a variety of on- and off-highway applications as well as more than 500 electrolyzer installations. Our electrolyzers are in fuelling stations on five continents – including the first fuelling stations in Scotland, Sweden, Norway, and Southeast Asia. We also continue to invest in new technologies, like solid oxide fuel cells, that show promise in stationary power applications.
“Our technology is unique and scalable, and we are selling into commercial applications today. We are continuing to invest to increase our technology leadership position in the hydrogen ecosystem.”
Cummins is participating in markets where we see early adoption of fuel cell and hydrogen technologies, leveraging our technology leadership, customer relationships, application knowledge, and global service and support capabilities.
“Cummins is ready for a world in which hydrogen adoption accelerates."
Cummins is investing now in a unique portfolio that offers hydrogen production from electrolysis, fuel cells, tanks and powertrain, along with electrified components. This enables us to offer a full, differentiated hydrogen solution, from start to finish, seamlessly integrated for customers. We are well-positioned and are leading the way in clean energy solutions.
“Cummins is well positioned to support the transition to a hydrogen economy with our unique capabilities in fuel cell and hydrogen production technologies. When we pair that technology leadership with Cummins’ expertise in other areas, the future’s exciting.”
Green hydrogen and fuel cells will play an important role in reducing greenhouse gas and air emissions, as well as meeting the Paris Climate targets. One of the key ways the world can hit these targets is transitioning to low carbon power. We believe hydrogen will play a meaningful role in that transition, which is why we are investing in fuel cell technologies now.
“With cheaper, more available green hydrogen, we’ll have the opportunity to switch to green hydrogen as a fuel source to decarbonize industries, particularly transportation.”
