1984
Office furniture dealer, Doubleday Brothers, was purchased, and DBI Business Interiors was born as an office furniture dealer in Lansing Michigan
DBI had 12 employees in 1984, doing everything from sales to deliveries and installation
DBI Business Interiors becomes a Preferred Haworth Dealer, aligning ourselves with a world-class manufacturer of office furniture and work environments
1985

1991
DBI acquires Mead Office Supply
1992-2000
DBI experiences sales growth and market expansion. DBI now employs over 50 members
2006 - 2010
DBI acquires the following companies: C&L Office Supply, Michigan Office Supply, Lansing Area Business and The Office Center.. DBI now employs over 75 members
As a Preferred Hawort dealer, DBI now employs over 30 members, including fully-staffed deaign and installation departments
DBI aligns with the nation's premiere distributor of office supplies, giving us nationwide capabilities. DBI is now a one-stop shop for businesses, offering office furniture and office supplies. Employee number grows to 33

2001
DBI employees, George Snyder, Steve Klaver and Doug Smith, purchase the company and begin to transform the culture
2007
DBI transforms from DBI Business Interiors to DBI - We Do Office... everything for the office
DBI's 1920's three-story building,. housing our showroom and offices is renovated. The building is located blocks from the Michigan State Capitol Building giving DBI outstanding visibility along the iconic Michigan Avenue corridor
2009
DBI celebrates our 30th anniversary and opens The Office Outlet retail location
2014
DBI is awarded our first elite Best In Class Award

2018
DBI acquires Officeville Supplies
DBI acquires Choice Office Products and now employs over 90 members
2012 - 2019
For the 8th consectutive year, DBI has earned top honors with Haworth's Best In Class designation. DBI is one of only seven dealers who have earned this honor, every year, since the award's inception
DBI is named as one of Michigan's 50 Companies to Watch
looking ahead to What's Next
In 2019, DBI began a rolling realignment of our brand to reflect the future and identify us as experts in our field. DBI - We Do Office tells of a function – we sell products, we design, we deliver; We Know Office speaks of bringing knowledge, our expertise and a high-caliber experience to our customers’ business or organization. In 2020, DBI earns Best In Class honors for a ninth consectutive year.
2019 - 2020
DBI purchases a 40,000 square feet warehousing facility, tripling DBI's storage and receiving capabilites
