THE CREATORS

Player-driven creation is now much more accessible and no longer requires complex software and long development timelines. WOW, PUBG MOBILE’S intuitive creative sandbox, allows players to design their own maps, game modes and interactive experiences via an in-game editor. And there are real rewards: a fair and sustainable ecosystem with a prize pool exceeding USD $10 million.
This has helped make PUBG MOBILE one of the world’s biggest and most active mobile UGC creation platforms. More than 5.4 million maps have
been created and peak daily player count exceeds 8.5 million. It's a living universe that expands every day.
There’s also the Ptopia Design Project (PDP), a parallel co-creation platform where players design skins and costumes. Its million-dollar global contest system stages over a dozen competitions every year, each attracting around 30,000 to 40,000 entries. From vehicles to firearms and character design, these create opportunities for casual art enthusiasts and professional designers alike by promoting free creative expression for all.
For dreamers and doers alike, WOW and PDP turn creativity into recognised achievements. This December, creators from around the world took flight to the 2025 PMGC in Bangkok, stepping onto one of PUBG MOBILE’s biggest global stages. During the 2025 Creative Vision Awards, 16 standout creators were celebrated for their vision, passion, and originality, each given the platform to turn their ideas into experiences seen by a global audience.
tactical teamwork and creative strategy. But beyond its mechanics, PUBG MOBILE has evolved into a cultural platform where community creators redefine how the game is experienced. From custom maps and modes in World of Wonder (WOW) to costumes and skins in the Ptopia Design Project (PDP), creators are not just playing PUBG MOBILE; they are shaping what play looks like. This makes the game a social ecosystem where playstyles, narratives and even trends emerge.

The celebration extended beyond the arena and into the streets of Bangkok with the PDP Creative Zone, featuring the first-ever co-created giant Lone Survivor helmet decorated by 10 PDP creators. This real-world installation
stood as a powerful symbol of what happens when creators are given the freedom, tools, and recognition to create without limits.
From in-game map creation and community voting, to live events, global broadcasts, and real-world art installations, PUBG MOBILE continues to offer creators meaningful platforms, real visibility, and global credit. WOW and PDP are your gateway into this ever-growing creator ecosystem, a place where your ideas can reach millions, your work is recognised, and your creativity shapes the future of the game.
Below we speak to successful WOW and PDP creators about their journeys, and about how PUBG MOBILE has allowed them to express themselves and bring their creative visions to life.
Creative freedom
Part of the success of WOW and PDP is their flexibility, which allows mobile gamers and visual artists to experiment, iterate and express their own style
free from technical barriers.
“My creative skill set has changed completely since I joined WOW – it shifted from simple curiosity to real technical and artistic skill,” MUHAMMAD ALI says.
He found that his coding background started blending naturally with his creativity. And he’s come to love every part of the process, from planning to fixing mistakes. “The biggest surprise was realizing I’m capable of more than
I ever thought,” he says.
Many creators find that seeing players interact with their work has made them more confident in their creative abilities. “Every new project shows me a side
of my creativity I didn’t even know existed. And that growth is what keeps me motivated to keep pushing myself,” MUHAMMAD says. “Creating in PUBG MOBILE isn’t just ‘making maps’ — it’s sharing a part of myself with millions
of players,” he adds.
The creative freedom that WOW allows is apparent in the range of influences that creators bring to the table. MRシ亗JOKER亗 takes inspiration from games,
but also from cartoons, anime, TV series and from everyday life, and views creating maps as an opportunity to solve puzzles to push their own limits,
with a feedback loop always there to discover issues and make satisfying revisions. “I realized that it was possible to write the conditions using a task completion device, so I created a password device. After that, it occurred to
me that it was possible to implement the XO game in the WOW mode, since
it is a simple game that contains 16 conditions for winning and one condition
for drawing. But the real transition came when it took me two months of experiments until I was able to create the memory game. After that, the more creative ideas I implemented, the more I felt that my level and experience
were increasing.”
PDP creator CREIGHT, winner of the Regional Spotlight Gold Award, is another creator who appreciates that unlimited creative scope. “It never restricts my imagination!” he says of the PDP platform. “We get to design an incredibly broad range of assets, from architectural elements and home objects to highly detailed fan art, outfits, vehicle skins, and gun skins. I can constantly jump between different disciplines and challenges, ensuring my creativity is always being pushed in new and exciting directions.’
For all of the creators, opportunities for publishing and participating in contests have opened new horizons, and financial and community support have allowed them to grow. CREIGHT, for example, went from a self-starting artist to winning two trophies at PMGC events in Türkiye and London to having his 7th Anniversary outfit implemented in-game and worn by millions of players. “I grew up surrounded by art and design, but it was the PUBG MOBILE PDP that truly ushered me into the world of digital creation,” he reflects. “[PDP] gave me far more than just a platform—it gave me a voice. It connected my work with a global community of players, earning me recognition, awards, and an immense sense of accomplishment. Today, seeing my designs embraced by millions of players is the realization of a dream I once thought was beyond my reach.”
Refining creative techniques and workflows
Recognition and incentives have pushed PUBG MOBILE creators to improve their techniques.
MUHAMMAD ALI has defined a clear workflow that keeps him organised and efficient. He starts with a simple theme, mechanic or challenge he wants players to experience and makes a rough sketch before planning the map's structure, deciding where key paths and obstacles will go and testing sections as he goes, adjusting mechanics and visuals. “Mistakes are normal – they’re part of learning,” he notes.
Creators all have their favourite tools. For MUHAMMAD ALI, WOW’s visual programming changed the way he creates, helping him build complex mechanics, test ideas quickly and fix issues without getting bogged down
in code.
“Even though I have a coding background, visual programming makes everything faster and more intuitive. Instead of writing long scripts, I can drag, connect, and instantly see how the logic works in real time,” he says. This turns technical work into something creative, allowing him to experiment freely.
He focuses on balance and fairness in his maps since he believes every player should have equal chances, so he carefully designs spawn points, cover, and attack routes. As for visual style, he prefers clean and clear layouts. “Players should immediately understand the space and how to navigate it,” he says.
Awarded the title of Popular Creator for Casual-Themed Maps, Y A S Ø is another fan of WOW’s visual programming, and he finds the platform’s AI support to be invaluable, making it quicker to fix logic issues or structure mechanics. A beginner to programming and still in education, Y A S Ø sees
WOW as a learning space to be curious and experiment with concepts, “I love experimenting with different designs, improving gameplay, and seeing how small creative choices can make a big difference in player engagement. It is extremely rewarding to combine creativity, strategy, and technical skills to
build something that excites and inspires the community.”
MRシ亗JOKER亗 also cites technical features like the State Checker, Variables
tool and the network feature. But he stresses not to rely on one tool to craft a creative map. “The creator must use all the tools and features at their disposal to get the best possible result,” he says.
What next?
What’s clear for all of these creators is that they feel the PUBG MOBILE ecosystem will allow them to continue to develop and push their
creativity further.
MUHAMMAD ALI wants to experiment with more complex mechanics, unique gameplay and maps that challenge players in new ways. That will include expanding beyond smaller 1v1 and 2v2 maps to larger-scale designs and experiences that combine strategy, interaction and storytelling.
“WOW will continue to play a central role in that journey,” he says. “The community and contest opportunities will keep me motivated and connected
to other creators, pushing me to improve constantly.”
Getting started as a creator
PUBG MOBILE’s WOW allows anyone to create, regardless of their skill level thanks to its intuitive visual programming and AI assistance.
MRシ亗JOKER亗, who was named Creator of the Year for Best Camera Work at the PUBG MOBILE Creative Vision Awards 2025, got started after watching a video explainer, but he made his breakthrough by experimenting for himself. He uses the platform to express his passion for cinematic expression and storytelling in visually striking works.
Web developer ؟علُوشツ, who was named Creator of the Year for Best Visual Programming Creation, returned to PUBG MOBILE after a break and found that WOW had transformed the game. Motivated by glowing feedback for his Traitor Map, his approach has since evolved, treating map design as an engineering problem to solve. “I started planning experiments before building, dividing the mod into clear stages, and testing each stage individually”. This structured approach has helped him develop and create better mods.
Both creators recommend beginners jump in and explore for themselves. “Exploration is what makes a person creative, which is why I don’t advise following any explanations on social media,” MRシ亗JOKER亗 says. “It’s better to explore WOW mode and fix the mistakes yourself. It will be difficult at first, but with time your experience and creative abilities will increase.”
MUHAMMAD ALI, named Popular Creator for Racing-themed maps, didn’t understand much initially but was captivated by the idea that he could take a small idea and turn it into something visible in the game that players could enjoy. He started with simple things like parkours and learned something new everyday until he reached a point where he could create any idea in his mind, no matter how big or unusual.
From playing PUBG MOBILE since the age of 12, WOW added a place in the game where MUHAMMAD ALI’s creativity could also find a home joining like minded people giving back to their community,“What I enjoy most about design is that I can combine fun gameplay with quick thinking, intelligence and creative tools. This makes my maps more enjoyable and makes people have fun playing them,” he adds. “The world of design made me realize that I am not just a player, but someone who enjoys creating real experiences for others.”
Another PDP creator is Rutendo from Zimbabwe, winner of the Regional Spotlight Gold Award. As part of a new generation of young artists, Rutendo joined PDP to share her talents with the world, transforming her passion
for art into global recognition and exciting opportunities. Deeply inspired by
anime and film, her distinctive style reflects vivid imagination and creativity.
She credits PUBG MOBILE with changing her life, introducing her to a place where her self-expression is appreciated. “PDP has made it possible for me
to live a comfortable life especially in a country where formal employment is extremely difficult to get,” she says.
A traditional artist, PDP provided a pathway to explore the digital art medium “The biggest surprise for me comes when I look back at my very first design compared to my most recent work. The difference is stark. It's a rewarding feeling to realize how far I've come...it underscores the value of the long, continuous journey of progress I've undertaken within the program.”
Rutendo’s ambition is to get an in-game implementation as “living proof of my hard work”. “I hope to create designs that perfectly fit with the game style as well as suit the desires of players,” she adds.
WOW and PDP will continue to empower these and many thousands of other creators all over the world, enabling both experienced artists and newcomers
to realise their creative visions and to shine on the world stage.
