There’s also a one-touch AIS target-calling capability, very handy when the intention of other vessels needs to be clarified quickly. It is particularly valuable in busy harbours and harbour approaches, when crossing shipping lanes and in reduced visibility.
Integrated MOB functionality adds another important layer of crew safety. MOB is Automatically triggered immediately after a crew member is lost. The X100 provides clear alerts and recovery information, including the casualty’s last known position, bearing and distance. The X100 can also alert the crew to compatible AIS MOB/PLB.
Dedicated DSC distress functionality makes initiating an emergency call quick and straightforward, while an easily activated DSC Test Call routine makes checking operation with a local Coast Guard station equally simple.
Engineered to be ultra tough, the X100 can cope with the harshest seas and environmental extremes – everything from the high heat of the tropics to the extreme cold in high latitudes. It measures 249x84x162mm (9.8x3.3x6.4in), weighs around 800g (1.76 lbs) and its black case conceals a rugged alloy chassis.
