The WNBA is one of the most competitive leagues in all of sports. Rosters are capped at just 12 players, meaning that, in 2025, there are only 156 total spots—and far more worthy athletes. Every player who makes it past training camp and onto a final roster is good. Many are great. And the great ones? They'll all be in Indianapolis this weekend, prepped and ready to compete in an all-out battle. It's time for 2025 WNBA All-Star. In addition to the three-point contest, skills competition, and, of course, the All-Star game, there will be plenty of high-stakes fashion moments to go around, with past, current, and future All-Stars on location at Gainbridge Fieldhouse, home of the Indiana Fever.
"Look good, play good" is one of the mantras I hear most from athletes, especially those in the W, where the tunnel has become as much a draw for fans as the on-court action. Players have their own brands, side-hustle as stylists, and partner with houses ranging from Prada to Coach. This All-Star weekend, with the league's top players all wanting to take an accolade back to their teams at home, looking good is sure to play a role.
And that is what we're here to dive into.
For Who What Wear's second Go Sports issue, we spoke with renowned celebrity stylist Karla Welch about her decision to team up with Los Angeles Sparks guard Kelsey Plum for her tunnel 'fits this season, as well as the New York Liberty's Breanna Stewart, Jonquel Jones, and coach Sandy Brondello about the ways that playing in the fashion capital of America has impacted their team's style. We also examined the business of beauty partnerships in the W, a lot of which will be seen throughout Indianapolis this weekend. To wrap it all up, we broke down the WNBA All-Star format, discussing the happenings in Indianapolis this weekend and looking back at past All-Star games. It's all to play for—just keep scrolling.
