If you're a long-time player of the Pokémon video game series, you might know of the Pokémon League as a group of the toughest players in the region, who you can only challenge once you've earned all eight gym badges. In real-life, that's not the case - Pokémon League events are in-person affairs that are ideal for beginners, offering the perfect chance to learn to play your favorite competitive Pokémon games before stepping into the world of official competitions.
No matter how you enjoy competitive Pokémon gaming, Pokémon League is a great, official way to enjoy some friendly battles, no matter your experience, skill, or where in the world you live.
Pokémon League is open across the Pokémon Trading Card Game, Pokémon GO, and, of course, the competitive side of the Pokémon video game series. Using your own cards or gaming devices, the League allows you to test your skills in-person against other players, playing, trading, and maybe even taking home some cool prizes.

All Pokémon League events are held in public places like game stores, and all of them are run by official League organisers to make sure the rules of Pokémon battling are upheld properly. If you want to take part, you can find your nearest Pokémon League event right here, and if there are none near you just yet, you can even apply to host your own event by becoming a League Leader.

The Pokémon League is available to everyone, no matter their skill or experience when it comes to competitive Pokémon. If you want to take part yourself, the best way to begin is by signing up for a Pokémon Trainer Club account. While you don't strictly need an account to take part, having one will allow you to collect Championship Points and Play! Points, letting you track your progress across multiple seasons, and potentially even signing up for Championship Series events like League Cups and League Challenges. You might even win Prize Packs and sticker sheets just for taking part.
