Founded in 1647, Chivite has become one of Spain’s most iconic, pioneering wineries.
Chivite
Chivite’s relentless pursuit of perfection has never wavered. A legacy of pioneering spirit, historical depth and adaptability has been passed on for almost 400 years, creating a true Spanish winemaking dynasty. That spirit of innovation continues today, in the person of Chivite’s head winemaker, David González.
González continues the work of his predecessors, who bequeathed Chivite an outstanding range of wines. The Colección 125 range embodies the winery’s heritage and tradition: exceptional, ageworthy wines designed to take pride of place in the most distinguished collections. The Colección 125 Gran Vino Tinto is the estate’s concentrated blend of Tempranillo and Syrah.
Since its launch in 1993, the Colección 125 Gran Vino Blanco has become renowned – indeed, it has even been poured at banquets of the Spanish Royal Household. This single-parcel Chardonnay from Finca Legardeta, fermented in barrel, offers a complex aromatic range and a remarkable harmony between fragrance and acidity; it marks a milestone in the renewed appreciation of white wine in Spain.
It is joined by a rosé, the Colección 125 Gran Vino Rosado, which saw its first vintage in 2004. This sophisticated blend of Garnacha and Tempranillo is produced from only
free-run juice, and aged on its lees for 9-12 months. Unlike traditional rosés, it is fermented and aged in barrel, developing texture, structure and aromatic complexity while maintaining exceptional freshness. Since its first vintage in 2004, it has become
a natural pairing for haute cuisine, reimagining what a rosé can be.
Completing the lineup, the Colección 125 Gran Vino Vendimia Tardía is a luxurious sweet wine from late-harvest Moscatel (awarded a Gold medal at the 2025 Decanter World
Wine Awards).
Crafting the future
At Chivite, tradition continues side by side with innovation: its single-estate Legardeta range serves as a prelude to the Colección 125, celebrating the estate’s essence:
fruit-forward wines with solid structure and innate elegance, offering a pure, precise expression of their terroir. This line consists of two wines, a Chardonnay and a Syrah-Garnacha-Tempranillo blend.
The Las Fincas collection, meanwhile, represents Chivite’s contemporary edge. The Las Fincas Rosé, a Garnacha-Tempranillo blend, has redefined the style of Spanish rosé since its launch in 2015. It is joyously modern, with a pale tone and generous aromatic intensity: white, red and stone fruits, alongside subtle florality, offering a vibrant experience from the first sip.
