Hang it in the Louvre! These Spring/Summer Accessories Are Works of Art
From sculptural silhouettes to unexpected colour pairings, this season's key accessories are wholly museum-worthy. They'll look good on you, too.
By Remy Farrell
Though we're almost halfway through 2026, we have yet to crown the It accessory of the year. We've fallen for basket bags, experimented with jelly shoes, worked out how to style mesh and deliberately unzipped our bags for the "undone" effect, but should you be looking for accessories that are less about trends and more about longevity, the best place to start is with the heritage houses.
This season is a return to what the greats (namely, Chanel, Prada, Louis Vuitton, Gucci and Dior) do best: unrivalled craftspersonship and pulse-quickening design. The same brand signatures that have been loved for a lifetime are shown again on new silhouettes (the Horsebit! The two-tone pump! The trunk hardware!)—conclusive proof that the classics are, in fact, favourites. And if you'd rather something entirely fresh, the latest from Loewe and Celine are the kind of instantly recognisable silhouettes that feel equally timeless. So, for a wise investment that will only appreciate with time, these are the luxury spring/summer 2026 accessories set to become future collectables.
Style Notes:This season, we've been treated to the Maxi Flap, the 25 and the Maxi Bowling Bag—but most highly anticipated has to be Chanel's latest shoes. Spotted on A-listers, editors and the most discerning street-style stars, we predict 2026 will continue to be all about the two-toned shoe 2.0. Merci, Matthieu Blazy.

Style Notes:Sculptural silhouettes and unexpected colour palettes are Loewe's calling card, and this season's humble mule is updated as a showpiece. The angled heel, the architectural topline, the elongated, squared-off toe: consider us sold.

Style Notes:Only a legacy like Fendi's could be responsible for a bag so famous, it goes by one word: "baguette". Countless prints, colours and fabrics later, this enduring icon has been reissued with exquisite detailing and a shoulder strap—evolving, but always cult.

Style Notes:Spring has sprung at the house of Dior, and fresh blooms and romantic details define Jonathan Anderson's whimsical collection. Here, past meets present in the form of a "ladylike" slingback that gives a hidden nod to the founder in the form of a "D"-shaped sole.

Style Notes:Already spotted on fashion's It crowd, the Paparazzo bag and Boulevard pump are sporting the brand's signature Horsebit. The familiar code is the star of the show for spring/summer, especially when set against glossy leather and crowd-pleasing GG Canvas.

Style Notes:Though it was designed in 2007, the Galleria's roots go all the way back to 1913, named in homage to the historic boutique opened by Mario Prada in Milan. No fads, no trends, and you can now find it in boxy minis, generous totes and a slender, elongated east-west iteration.

Style Notes:What happens when you combine two of Louis Vuitton's signature offerings (the travel trunk and the handbag)? An instant hit, of course, birthing the Side Trunk MM. Equal parts practical and playful, this versatile bag can be carried with the shoulder strap or top handle, or tucked under the arm as a clutch.

Style Notes:"Soft" by name and soft by nature, the buttery lambskin is as smooth as silk, and the supple nature of the bag means you can wear it crossbody and feel like you're carrying nothing at all. If true luxury is all about ease, this ticks every box.
