ICYMI, we’re approaching a Sexy Scarecrow Autumn. From Alexander Skarsgård's submissive (and seemingly well-endowed) basket body in Wicker to the haute couture scarecrow in Chanel’s fairytale-inspired autumn/winter 2026 collection, there’s no shortage of hot woven pieces to covet this season. Worth the splinters.
Thank God Law Roach came out of retirement. His contributions to red-carpet style (read: inventing the art of method dressing) aside, his Joan Rivers-style scathing reads are proving to be the best form of fashion entertainment right now. Between his sit-down with Ziwe and his judgements on Project Runway, there’s only one man above the law, and it’s Law Roach.
In the words of Addison Rae, put your headphones on. If the Instagram account Wired It Girls hasn’t proven that every outfit looks cooler when accessorised with this Y2K tech, then Justin Bieber’s attempts to release his own version of an iPod, complete with high-octane AirPods, will. With co-signs from Hailey Bieber and Kylie Jenner, expect to see these tangled cords adopted in neon green and bright pink colourways.
When Grammy Award-winning rapper Doechii said “Wake up, A cup”, she must’ve been predicting the return of cleavage. This autumn is all about exposed décolletages, midriffs and even toes. Unexpected skin is back on fashion’s agenda, from visible bra straps to exposed knickers and even the rise of freaky flip-flops.
Liverpool is garnering newfound cachet. As in the ‘60s, The Beatles are once again to blame for this renewed interest in a Scouse sensibility, as Paul Mescal, Harris Dickinson, Joseph Quinn and Barry Keoghan take on the lives of the Fab Four in a series of upcoming biopics. And with the British Fashion Council launching its landmark Fashion Britain initiative in the city this September, there will be a whole new cohort of tastemakers flocking to the Royal Albert Docks.
If Bret Easton Ellis’s The Shards has you craving a debaucherous version of Hollywood, it’s time to meet the next-gen Brat Pack. As a brief roll call: Rachel Sennott, who takes a stab at influencer culture with HBO’s I Love LA; her co-star Jordan Firstman, who just made his directorial debut with A24’s Club Kid, Bennito Skinner, whose time as a closeted high-school athlete comes to life in Overcompensating; and his best friend Mary-Beth Barone, whose Netflix standup special, Galaxy Brain, serves as the gospel for any politically astute woman who grew up shopping at Hollister. We’re not sure if we want to be them, or just party with them.
Events centred around “nerdy” hobbies are proving to be some of the trendiest to be seen at, from Shoreditch’s Knight Club, where you can sip cocktails whilst practising your Sicilian Defense, to Anthem Karaoke Club, a roaming singing party hosted by fashion insiders. And we have to mention the packed-out Bingo Night at The Mildmay Club. Put down the hyper-curated Louise Carmen notebook and pick up the dingy pack of cards.
I’m officially introducing you to Scooby Doo shades. Inspired by the uniforms of the Mystery Gang, the A/W 26 runways were dominated by hues that rivalled Daphne Blake’s iconic purple mini, whilst at Tory Burch, deep burnt mustard and bright orange offered a glimpse of what Velma Dinkley might wear if she grew up to work in finance. These meddling kids might actually be onto something.
You may have noticed a distinct lack of logomania on the runways recently (Demna’s Gucci aside). As a result, those who covet super-chintzy monograms are being forced to look to the past. The print-maxxers amongst us are pioneering the return of iconic Y2K-era prints like Burberry’s Nova Check, Roberto Cavalli’s florals and Pucci’s psychedelic swirls.

In what would have been Marilyn Monroe’s centennial year, the blonde bombshell is once again taking centre stage. In Venice, Maggie Gyllenhaal debuted a short film about the actress, starring Dakota Johnson and Ellen Burstyn as imagined versions of the star at the height of her fame and the one we never got to see. In London, the National Portrait Gallery explores her legacy through photographs and artworks from the likes of Andy Warhol and Richard Avedon.
