The hutch in their dining room, which came with its “awesomely faded, peeling blue” paint job, holds their collection of vintage glassware. “My mom is an Anglophile and obsessed with anything tea related, so I have a bunch of teapots, including one she gave me from her college days, on display,” says O’Neill. In the library is a Tiffany lamp, a hand-me-down from Bull’s parents. On the walls and in various corners is art collected during the couple’s travels. “Whenever we go somewhere, we try to get a painting or sculpture to bring home,” explains O’Neill. “We have items from Thailand, Indonesia, and lots of Jamaican pieces, of course.”
The pièce de résistance, however, isn’t secondhand. Excited for their first non-IKEA sofa, the pair opted for an ultra-plush sectional from Restoration Hardware. ”The joy of falling into a deep slumber on our couch is unmatched,” says O’Neill. Plus the cobalt upholstery hides the inevitable spills. “I’m not so big on things having to match; I love a hodgepodge of colors and shapes,” notes O’Neill. “It has something to do with growing up in New York—it’s a beautiful mess of different styles and aesthetics.”
