Ask questions - As much as we try, we’re not going to cover EVERYTHING during your onboarding or orientation processes. So when something isn’t clear or the answer isn’t readily apparent, just ask. Your colleagues are happy to assist.

Come with an open mind – Supply chain management and food redistribution is a unique and complex field and most outside hires don’t arrive with a vast background of related experience. It’s okay. Our team thrives on diverse points of view, diverse experiences, and diverse backgrounds.
02
Bring the right attitude – If you’re looking for an easy job, you’ve come to the wrong place. Jobs throughout Dot are designed to challenge you. And we admit, this can be a lot to handle early on. But the longer you stick with it–whether it’s picking, driving, coding, calling, building, routing, selling, or creating–the easier it will get. Don’t give up!

Adaptability is key – Dot is a growing company and has been since 1960. This means change is inevitable. So learn as much as you can about your job and the business while always being able and willing to adapt when necessary.

Be patient - There’s going to be a lot to learn in those first few days and weeks and it might get a little overwhelming at times. There are a lot of moving parts in every department and wrapping your head around it all will take some time. Don’t worry. Just stick with it and, in time, it’ll all come naturally.
