We achieved this by utilizing its diverse eDiscovery technology stack, featuring the use of Relativity and Relativity analytics to create workflow efficiencies.

For the managed review, Mindcrest was able to quickly staff an experienced team to begin the review process. As part of an early assessment and past experiencewith similar matters, Mindcrest planned for the highly technical subject matter. To manage this, the review team partnered with Mindcrest University to prepare the review team before review started by providing additional training to assist the team in fully understanding the underlying science with respect to the optical transmission product involved in this dispute, as well as the underlying physics, so that reviewers could understand the technical nature of documents and be able to efficiently identify documents related to the relevant issues/patent.
Mindcrest started the review with a very small team who continued through the life of the project and became subject matter experts within the project. This small team collaborated with the client to raise escalations to set standards for review. Once the complexity was further assessed as the review started and the team learned more about the documents involved, Mindcrest increased the size of the team by building off the knowledge of the subject matter experts to complete the review within the timeline committed to the client. Through using a small review team to start the project slowly, the Mindcrest team was able to leverage the knowledge of subject matter experts to assist in training the remainder of its team to scale the review, while also improving efficiency and quality.

Document review
We staffed an initially smaller experienced team of subject matter expert reviewers who worked with the client to finalize the review protocol and begin the review . We then ramped up the team size to meet the tight time frame dividing the team into smaller PODs with subject matter experts leading the various PODs. The team reviewed and tagged 155,000 documents for relevancy, privilege status, key documents and 18 issue tags. Through our escalation process, the team brought forward issues from the documents reviewed which were not covered in the initial protocol. The review was completed in a 12-day timeframe.
Our agility, scalability, use of technology and familiarity with the work enabled an efficient and accurate document review.
Our early escalations helped the client adjust their strategy and modify scope of relevancy, key document areas, including identifying new issues.
The review was completed on time and under budget, saving the client money while providing a quality work product.
