New Foods Your 1 Year Old Can Eat and Drink
Cow’s Milk
For babies under 1, breastmilk or formula are the best milk sources. Once your baby is past the 1-year mark, you may start giving them the recommended daily amount of 16-24 ounces (or 2-3 cups) of whole cow’s milk, which includes essential nutrients for growing toddlers.

Honey
Honey (or foods made with honey) is off-limits for the first year because it may contain the spores of the bacteria Clostridium botulinum. Although harmless to adults, these spores can cause infant botulism in babies under 1. Once your baby turns 1 it’s OK to serve them honey, in moderation.
Foods That Require Chewing
Once your baby's molars come in sometime after 12 months, you can add foods that require chewing, like firm-flesh veggies or fruits (raw apples grated or cut into tiny pieces, for example), small slices of meat and poultry (cut across the grain) and seedless grapes (skinned and halved).
Dairy Products Served Different Ways
Now is a great time to encourage your little one to try different flavors and textures. Yogurt, cheese and other dairy products are excellent first bites that pair well with other foods. Try mixing shredded cheese with whole grains and cooked veggies or yogurt with fruit and chia or flax seeds.
Your tot will love Horizon Organic® Growing Years® Lowfat Yogurt Pouches in blueberry or strawberry flavor. Each serving contains 50 mg of DHA Omega-3 to help support brain and eye health, plus choline and prebiotics.

Fruit Juice (In Moderation)
The American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) now recommends that fruit juice not be given to babies younger than a year old. But even after their first birthday, avoid giving any juice at bedtime, and give it only from a cup and in small amounts during the day (no more than 4 ounces total daily for children up to the age of 3).
