Days of
Quarantlne
100
design by jeremiah mcnair & text by tom devoto
During quarantine, every day feels like four. Every day is Tuesday, and no one can tell April from June. But we assure you that time is, in fact, passing. And we have proof—remember the “choose your quarantine house” meme? That feels like a lifetime ago! Take a short scroll down memory lane and relive the Internet since the early days of the coronavirus.

From celebrity homes to correctional facilities, everyone got involved with this simple dance trend.
Fun and educational!
This one’s (mostly) for the girls.
The only thing worse than bad singing is bad singing about not having possessions from uber-wealthy celebrities.
This was a valiant attempt to help stave off everyone’s “COVID 15” weight gain.
By this point, Americans were firmly locked in their own homes. So, for better or (more often) worse, plenty of parents got involved in this one.
So. Much. Bread.
What started with earnest tweets about clearer water in the canals of Venice became one of the funniest memes of the past two months.
Lots of brands got involved with this one—towns, colleges, sports teams, and more. Which means this got old quick.
These live music sessions, especially Timbaland and Swizz Beatz’s “Verzuz” battles, have dominated, generating hundreds of thousands of viewers.
Good, old-fashioned appreciation for healthcare workers.
Cute tanuki (but also predatory lender?) Tom Nook has been following us everywhere.
Movies, foods, sports players, and more. This trend stoked days worth of Twitter debate.
Drake is just making songs for TikTok at this point.
It’s not much of a “quarantine” if you’re dropped into a house with, like, seven other people, but we digress.
People needed something to break up the routine of waking up, walking out of the bedroom, staying there all day, and then heading back to the bedroom.
Kudos to the people who actually stuck it out for 30 days, because it seemed like this trend shot up and fizzled out within a week.
A simple enough prompt. But when it comes to having opinions on Twitter, it’s never that simple.
Death, taxes, and social media trends that allow people to post old pictures of themselves.
Again?? More old photos. So predictable.
A perfect copy of the Twitter trend from a week or so prior, the Instagram version added a nifty customizable picture of Bill Clinton listening to records.
When there’s nothing you can do but laugh…
Will 2020’s MJ meme have the legs that “Crying Jordan” had? Doubtful. Memes don’t have staying power like they used to.
We were that bored at this point, huh?
Filming toddlers is automatic social media gold.
