Amazon Prime subscribers, in addition to paying an annual fee of $99 spend $1,300 per year on Amazon purchases, double what non-members spend.
On average, Netflix generate $9 of revenue per user per month; Sirius XM makes $13.25. Spotify is $5.32.
by 2028, some predict Netflix may have more than 300 million

325 million people in the U.S.
Subscription services generate many billions annually and there’s few signs of slowing. One analyst predicted Netflix could have 300 million subscribers by 2028. And the model has transformed once predictable purchases of goods and services—from video games and yoga classes, from toiletries to cars. Last year, Ford, Porsche, Volvo, and Cadillac all launched a version of the subscription model. “Ownership just isn’t that important anymore,” writes Tien Zuo, CEO of Zuora, who’s software specifically helps companies organize and understand their subscription models. “They want media at their fingertips, not physical products to manage.”
So we partnered with the market visionaries at Zeitguide to take a visual accounting of the subscription economy, based on the most current estimates.
Fifteen years ago, early adopters of Netflix numbered in the thousands, Rhapsody and Rdio were battling for dominion in music streaming, and a service that periodically delivered razors to your door seemed absurdly self-indulgent. Now, Netflix is valued comparably to Disney, Spotify dominates music streaming with 75 million paying customers, and in 2016 Unilever bought Dollar Shave Club for $1 billion.
