Spring Branch:
Heart Houston
Houston: home to more than
Spring Branch is older than the city of Houston, established in the 1830s
by German immigrants, who named their home after the natural spring-fed creek in the area. (That’s why we have so many German street names!)
Over time, the town expanded and diversified ethnically, and was annexed by
Houston in the 1950s. As Houston grew, so did Spring Branch, as people sought homes close to, but outside downtown, and new interstates and beltways made commuting a breeze.
Early in the 21st Century, new homes were built, bringing newer, younger residents seeking the balance between downtown living and suburban comfort. Today, Spring Branch is home to a diverse and growing population bound together by its love of the neighborhood and all it has to offer.
Overall, Spring Branch is Ripe for Reinvention.

From its rural roots, Spring Branch has evolved into a vibrant, ethnically and racially diverse community that offers its residents a variety of home types, from apartments to townhomes to single-family residences; some of the best public and private schools in the city; and a quality of life that combines easy access to downtown while remaining close to nature through multiple parks, public trails and walkways.
Centered along Long Point Road, our own urban core offers daily shopping conveniences. These are joined by an acclaimed international dining scene, and an entertainment district with a cinema and areas for live performances, festivals, other special events, and business opportunities that bring our community together.

The district is working on many fronts to create a safer, cleaner, and more prosperous community for those who live and work here.
