Empowering the Enterprise With a Connected Workforce
Frontline Employees Power Great Experiences

They are the backbone of retail operations,
often the first to shape the customer experience.
Yet many frontline workers feel disconnected from the information, training, and resources they need to succeed.
Discover how retail leaders are closing the communications gap and keeping frontline teams informed, engaged, and aligned across every location.

The Hidden Costs of Poor Workforce Communication
Traditionally, employee communications focused on distribution—sending announcements, posting notices, updating intranets, and scheduling meetings. But for frontline teams working shifts while on the move, simply sending a message isn’t enough. Today’s employees expect communication that’s visual, timely, personalized, and easy to consume. When critical messages don’t reach the frontline, the impact can include:
Higher turnover
Lower engagement
Safety risks
Inconsistent execution
Poor customer experiences

How a Nationwide Big Box Store Built a Modern Employee Communication Solution
Challenge:
For more than 30 years, a nationwide big box store relied on satellite television and set-top boxes to distribute business updates and operational content to stores. As the technology aged and demand grew for video-on-demand training, leadership broadcasts, and digital signage, the company explored replacing the system with a server-based architecture.
The approach proved too expensive and introduced IT security and infrastructure challenges that made large-scale deployment impractical.
After nearly six years of evaluation, the retailer adopted a different strategy built around Hughes Digital Signage. Rather than installing servers in every store, the retailer deployed a cloud-based solution running on smart TVs.
The new architecture eliminated the need for on-site hardware, reduced network traffic by caching content locally, and enabled a "Netflix-like" experience for associates.
