The October 2020 Outdoor EMV Liability Shift
The major card brands have set October 1, 2020, as the deadline to upgrade outdoor dispensers to accept EMV chip cards to avoid full liability for fraud at the dispenser.
Verifone and Gilbarco plan to end direct support for outdoor remote access services used to secure and integrate dispensers with POS by late 2020.
C-stores must move to a certified Managed Network Solution Provider (MNSP) to achieve
and maintain EMV at the dispensers.
