Summary of winning Idea:
BIM 2.0 – Applications
Data interoperability is fundamental to leveraging the benefits of a multi-tool workflow that is critical to the value we deliver in our work. BIM 2.0 proposed a scalable workflow that can facilitate up to 100% automation of key workflow tasks using a single-source modelling approach.
Concept-level testing has shown early indications of significant time savings when this evolution of existing workflows was applied to a sample set of new build suburban retail developments. The efficiency results also show the potential to deliver additional value through design optimization.
By testing the development of additional capabilities of this tool during the Impact2021 design Sprint, BIM 2.0 proposes to further increase time savings through an approach that considers the reusability of a new module-based toolset that could be applied beyond the initial test case.
