Peyronie’s disease (PD)
is an inflammatory condition in which scar tissue (also called plaque) causes an abnormal curvature of the penis.
PD may cause loss of length or girth of the penis, and it can also cause discomfort during sexual activity and even erectile dysfunction (ED).
Men in the early stages, or acute phase, of PD (up to the first two weeks to 12 months after the scar or deformity starts) can benefit from non-surgical treatment.
Non-surgical treatments for PD include injectable drugs and penile traction. All of them can help slow the progression of the condition, before it interferes. with your sex life.
Non-surgical treatment can reduce the scar tissue on the skin of your penis, reverse at least some of the curvature, and resolve any pain or discomfort you may be feeling, without the risks associated with an invasive surgical procedure.
