Day 1: The Test Is Ordered
Your doctor will order an test either by itself or alongside tests for other ovarian cancer biomarkers. The doctor will determine whether to use tissue from a previous biopsy or surgery or collect a newer sample.
Days 2–7: The Tissue Is Tested
Once the tissue sample is sent to a pathology lab, it’s tested for A pathologist will read the slides and determine whether the cancer cells are positive or negative.
Days 8–10: The Results Are Interpreted
The results are sent back to your doctor, who will review them and discuss next steps and treatment options with you.
