LORI MAC VITTIE
Zipwhip is an SMS and MMS texting provider that has seen a 280% message growth over the past year. To support this growth and effectively deal with their aging on-premises infrastructure, a drastic migration to the cloud was required. Three engineers re-designed Zipwhip’s infrastructure over 9 months and began leveraging AWS services—including EKS, Nitro-based EC2 instances, and others. They also leveraged F5’s BIG-IP VE and NGINX (Kubernetes ingress controllers) to optimize app performance, visibility, and security throughout the migration. Leveraging AWS, they were able to increase performance, scalability, and resiliency while optimizing costs over traditional infrastructure.
