Role based access controls provide
granular management of which users
and roles can access and consume app services and the devices they run on.
Back at the Application Templates repository, the newly created template “Custom-WAF-AS3-template” is published and ready to have users and roles assigned to it.
Here the analytics profiles and associated permissions are customized to meet deployment requirements of various
roles and users.
Check or uncheck the boxes on the right to denote whether these functions are editable by the app owner.

are being defined.
These templates are highly customizable, including service and analytics profiles.
Once complete, the template can be published for later use and given a

To create an application service from
BIG-IQ, go to Applications > Application Templates. Then, select a template to clone or create a new one.
BIG-IQ has a number of pre-configured application services templates available for installation and use on GitHub. As a best practice, clone a template and customize it for your specific requirements.
This is the BIG-IQ application dashboard—where application and network teams see and control their
apps, services, and devices. From here,
at-a-glance, application-centric visibility into every BIG-IP app service and device
is possible—along with the ability to drill
"in to each service for deep analytics.
This dashboard is built using services templates, so let’s start there.

Application templates are an easy way to
deploy preconfigured app services that protect
and optimize your applications.
You can use either F5-authored or custom-built application services templates to deploy services like WAFs and load balancing.

Visibility into and the ability to manage your application portfolio means faster trouble-
shooting, end-to-end control, and no more
drowning in tickets from an app team asking
for additional services.
In this demo, we'll walk through common tasks
like creating and deploying application services across clouds. For the best experience, launch
this demo on a desktop computer.
