BIG-IQ offers users a “global view” of app services that are comprised of several services. Click on “My Company” to drill down and see the app services it contains.
What Does Holistic App Visibility and
Management Mean for You?
For app dev teams, it means you have the self-service tools you need to develop and deploy apps quickly in the environment of your choice.
In this click-through demo, we'll walk through some common tasks using F5 BIG-IQ Centralized Management. Specifically, deploying application services and monitoring your app’s
health, security, and performance from a dashboard that
spans environments.
Collaboration between your team and the NetOps team has become crucial to achieving and maintaining deployment
velocity. Our goal is to make that a lot easier.
This is the “MyCompany” app, made up of ecommerce, mail, and hr applications. Notice that each piece is deployed in a different environment.
To add services to “MyCompany,” click on “Create”, highlighted in red.
This is the drilldown view of
the application service called “ecommerce.app.aws.” This view gives you significantly more insight into the health, performance, and pertinent security of your application
than the “at a glance” view.
After clicking “Create,” click the back arrow to return to the dashboard and see your new application service in the process of being deployed.
You can come back to this dashboard at any time to monitor app services across clouds or deploy new ones.
Here's your application services template. This is where you'll enter key information such as the application name, description, and IP addresses of the servers.
Once you complete the form, click "Create."
Deploy and Monitor your Apps
Once your NetOps team has set up a service catalog of application services templates, you can use these NetOps-approved templates to build and consume application services as needed—without ever having to submit a request ticket.
