The business world needs professionals who are adaptable, resilient and ready to take on complex, real-world challenges.
That’s why Boston University Questrom School of Business is reengineering its undergraduate program—to equip today’s students with the capabilities, competencies and opportunities they will need to advance tomorrow. To meet the needs of today’s employers, 75% of whom said in a recent study that their new college hires were unprepared for the job, B.U. leaders saw a mandate to innovate business education. “Employers have been telling us that what they are looking for now is students who are self-directed and able to contribute more effectively earlier in their careers,” says Jeff Furman, Questrom’s undergraduate dean. “Our graduates will … enter the workforce professionalized and resilient. They will have experienced relevant work so that they’re real-world ready.” What will make the “real-world-ready” graduate stand out from their peers? And how will a Questrom degree distinctively position them for future success? Uncover the answers below, as we explore one fictional future Questrom graduate’s journey.
