Here are three advantages the
innovative auto company gained when
they introduced HPE’s technology:
Advantage #1
Analyze All Data
The sheer volume, coupled with the complex nature of test data, can quickly make the information unmanageable. In many organizations data is in disarray, said Alexia Clements, vice-president of worldwide go-to-market for HPE GreenLake Cloud Services.
“It's trapped in silos across the organization. It's also difficult to see that single version of the truth,” said Clements, asserting the difficulty of finding value in fragmented data ecosystems.
A unified platform like the HPE GreenLake edge-to-cloud platform empowers organizations to analyze data wherever it is collected, sidestepping the complexity, time and risk that can come with moving it. This ability allows HPE’s autonomous vehicles customer, for example, to perform daily tests to validate data accuracy and innovate faster, giving them a competitive advantage.
Running autonomous driving tests using just one vehicle involves tens of thousands of simulations every second and capturing data from as many as 23 onboard sensors. Most of this data lives at the edge, but it also resides within software development centers.

Advantage #2
Enter Markets Quickly
A hybrid cloud experience extends the flexibility of the cloud to on-prem data centers, edge locations and other places that are more rigid when it comes to allocating IT resources. A Forrester research report published in partnership with HPE said HPE GreenLake “shortened time-to-market of deployed IT projects by 80%,” allowing companies to right-size capacity and vigorously respond to business demands.
With the vast majority of enterprises using a mix of public and private clouds, and multiple cloud service providers, Clements said they shouldn’t have to abandon their ideal IT mélange just to reap certain benefits of the public cloud. Among them: having the flexibility to chase new opportunities as soon as they appear.
Every country has different rules and regulations around transportation, and for new technologies like autonomous vehicles, drafting regulations takes time. The software maker wanted the ability to spin up new services as soon as legally possible. It’s hard to predict when autonomous driving will be legalized in different countries, so elasticity is key.
Advantage #3
Adapt Nimbly
They selected HPE GreenLake because it helped them optimize costs with a pay-per-use model and delivered a fully managed experience, allowing them to stay focused on improving their software and keeping other priorities on boil. They also selected HPE as a strategic partner to advise and guide them on tech decisions.
As organizations evaluate data platforms, Clements recommends that leaders adopt a posture that
asks: Will my platform enable me to capitalize on new trends—whatever it is that emerges next?
Building innovative technology requires an equally innovative data platform—one that can adapt to new use cases and changing requirements. The software maker wanted a platform that could grow and evolve with them.
