“Versatility is a compromise.”
Grecale Trofeo
“If you want to off-road and also go to the racetrack, you’re going to build something that’s not going to be perfect at either one,” says Busse. “But as a designer, what you can’t do is compromise what you’re about.”
For the Grecale collection, the team was tasked to design a true Maserati—defined by groundbreaking craftsmanship and speed—that also rose to the challenge of meeting the driver’s everyday needs.
Busse points to the collection’s best-in-class, second-row legroom and trunk space, ideal for his family road trips. Even the gear shifter has been moved to an on-screen push system, leaving ample room in the console for storage and wireless charging.

Generous cabin space provides comfort and storage options.
The most powerful version, the Trofeo, is made for speed-seekers and sports enthusiasts. Shifting the drive mode to “Corsa”—Italian for “race”—can achieve that super-car feeling, going zero-to-60 in 3.6 seconds with a top speed of 177 mph. “The engine is incredibly responsive. It’s what Maserati is about: capable of going the long distance in style and comfort, but also delivering performance.”
“If I couldn’t have a multi car garage and had to pick a single car, I would argue the Grecale Trofeo is the perfect car.”
