Standard Industries is betting on industrial innovation through its related venture capital fund, 40 North Ventures, which has invested in 15 companies, including 3D printing firm Desktop Metal (top). The group’s Siplast division designed a roof to protect the Library of Congress collection, including the presidential papers of George Washington and Abraham Lincoln, at the Madison Building in Washington, D.C.
