Du founded Shanghai-based biopharmaceutical firm Zai Labs in 2014 and took it public twice: On Nasdaq in 2017 and for a secondary listing on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange in 2020.
The company–which has a market cap of $5.3 billion–is considered a pioneer in the industry and operates by licensing successful drugs for the Greater China market and developing new ones. Since 2015, Zai Labs has moved from developing four products to 21 today, covering oncology, autoimmune diseases and other conditions. Du also launched her healthcare-focused investment firm, Quan Capital, in 2017 through which she led a $60 million IPO for Shanghai's Alebund Pharmaceuticals in March –Rana Wehbe Watson
