You may be eligible for citizenship through naturalization if you:
Have been a permanent resident for at least 5 years (or 3 years if married to a U.S. citizen)
Are at least 18 years old
Have had continuous residence in the U.S. for at least 5 years (or 3 years if married to a U.S. citizen); physical presence is required for an aggregate total of at least one half of the required continuous residence period
Have good moral character for the past 3 or 5 years, as required, and show attachment to the principles of the U.S. Constitution and well-disposed to the good order and happiness of the United States
Are able to read, write and speak words in the ordinary usage of the English language (with certain exceptions)
Have knowledge and understanding of the fundamentals of the history, principles and form of government of the U.S. (with certain exceptions)
