Paying a Premium: Super Bowl LX Is a Hot Ticket
Trend Report
For the first time in a decade, the NFL’s biggest game returns to Northern California. The 14–3 Seahawks will face the 14–3 Patriots in Super Bowl LX.
Ticket buyers are flocking to the Big Game in Levi’s Stadium, especially with mild weather in host city Santa Clara—a relief for many people who are still shaking off frigid temperatures in much of the country.
Fans are also sold on the battle between Seattle and New England—a rematch of Super Bowl XLIX—and they’re ready to spend to get inside the stadium. Tickets for Super Bowl LX are pricey, according to data from TickPick, a leading North American ticketing marketplace. Front Office Sports takes you through the trends for this year’s Super Bowl.
A Fresh Matchup
The average overall purchase price for a ticket to this year’s Super Bowl $8,229, making it the second-priciest Super Bowl of the 2020s.
That stands in stark contrast to last year’s game, when the Eagles played the Chiefs for the second time in three years. Overexposure to Kansas City, which appeared in five of six Super Bowls from 2020 through 2025, may have been partly responsible for last year’s average purchase price dipping to $4,962—the lowest rate of the past five years.
But this year feels fresh, and buyers are champing at the bit to be there for the Big Game.
Big Spenders
Ticket prices for Sunday’s game have fluctuated daily since the matchups were set two weeks ago, according to TickPick data. But even the least-expensive tickets for Super Bowl LX will still cost a pretty penny.
After the Patriots beat the Broncos in a snowy AFC championship game, and the Seahawks held on at home to defeat the Rams in the NFC, the cheapest get-in price was $5,532. Across the next few days, lowest prices went back and forth, peaking at $6,586 a pop 12 days before the game.
Destination: Santa Clara
The Super Bowl always prompts a lot of travel, and this year’s location in California is especially enticing.
There will be plenty of out-of-towners coming in for the game, especially from Massachusetts—a Patriots stronghold—which represents 18.5% of ticket purchases. The Seahawks will have support, too, with 10% of buyers from Washington State. Another major tourist market is football hotbed Texas, where 11% of ticket buyers hail from.
But Californians are flocking to the game, too, with 30% of purchases from in-state buyers.
Ticketing trends show this year’s Super Bowl in Santa Clara is a huge draw, and prices reflect that fans are excited to be there.

The Patriots are returning to the Super Bowl for the first time since winning it all in February 2019. Since then, Tom Brady has retired, coach Bill Belichick has gone into college football, and the Pats have been stuck in AFC East purgatory. They finished 4–13 during the 2023 and 2024 seasons, placing them behind even the Jets. But a top-five scoring defense and the emergence of second-year quarterback Drake Maye have these underdogs believing they can turn back the clock to 2002, when another second-year QB surprised the heavily favored Rams and started a dynasty.
The Seahawks also have Super Bowl bona fides, but it’s been 11 years since they last appeared. Unlike the Patriots, Seattle has remained consistently competitive since its last appearance in 2015, and it enters the contest as the favorite. Under second-year head coach Mike Macdonald, the team has assembled a powerful defense paired with a well-oiled offense run by two-time Pro Bowler Sam Darnold.
The data shows that springing for a ticket early doesn’t always ensure the best deal. After that peak, cheapest get-in prices declined to $4,155 the Tuesday before the Super Bowl. It’s a relative bargain to nearly $6,600—but that’s still an expensive ticket.
