Cali Mykonos
Is the Greek Island Gem You’ve Been Dreaming Of
Located on the sun-kissed shores of Mykonos, this chic resort is a far cry from the island’s party reputation. For clubbing and bar-hopping, head to Old Town. For breathtaking views, elegant digs and fresh sushi washed down with local wine, head to this exclusive hideaway in the coastal village of Kalafati. Oh, and let’s not forget about the shimmering, winding infinity pool overlooking the Aegean Sea that’s practically begging you to bask in the sunshine and sip a cocktail by the water’s edge. Intrigued? Here’s what else you should know about Cali Mykonos luxury resort.

Who should you bring?
Anyone and everyone who enjoys lazy days spent by the pool, long lunches and a limited travel agenda. Of course, you could check out the neighboring beach, go for a walk along the cliffs and pop into one of the many charming tavernas in town, but this is one of those resorts where the whole point is kind of to, well, stay put. Which makes it the ideal spot to unwind with your partner, bestie or the fam (kids are welcome and the villas can comfortably accommodate up to 10 guests).
For travelers who can’t just sit and relax all day (ahem, not us), the concierge is happy to arrange diving, jet-skiing, parasailing, boating and more outdoor activities, plus helicopter tours (there’s a helipad on-site, NBD).
What’s the food like?
Lots of fresh Mediterranean fare on offer, with breakfast, lunch and dinner all served in the two-tiered restaurant overlooking the sea. We were pleased with the variety of options, not to mention how easy it was to eat healthfully here. For breakfast, order the Greek yogurt bowl with granola, fresh fruit, honey and walnuts (and don’t sleep on the iced espresso) and for lunch try the watermelon salad, grilled octopus, mezze platter and the best-ever tzatziki—all teamed with a bottle or two of lively Greek wine, of course. And let's not forget about the aforementioned sushi offerings, featuring fish from near and far, served in the outdoor sushi bar overlooking the sea.
Did you get a good night’s sleep?
With surroundings so peaceful and quiet, it was easy to catch up on zzz’s here. The mattress was firm, the pillows were soft and the double layer of shades provided a nice dark room to sleep in.
What amenities are available?
whirlpools, in addition to a range of treatment options available). Gym buffs will enjoy the 24/7 fitness enter, as well as the many wellness activities on offer such as hiking along the bluff, cycling classes outside, meditation, beach yoga and more. Speaking of the beach, the Monarch Bay Beach Club is exclusively available to members and guests and has everything you need to surf the waves, paddle board, SUP and more. Or hey, if you’d just like to kick back on a beach chair with a glass of wine, then that’s cool too.
Remember what we said about the infinity pool? The striking design snakes along the contours of the cliff and it just so happens to be the largest pool in Mykonos that’s also a salt water pool. There’s also a well-equipped fitness center with access to private trainers for a fee, a pilates and yoga studio, plus a small private beach. The spa is set to open in 2024 but until then you can have all that tension kneaded out of you in the privacy of your own suite with a selection of in-room spa treatments.
How was the service?
Thoughtful, wonderful and aim-to-please staff are happy to answer any questions and tend to any request you may have. There are complimentary vehicle transfers to anywhere on the island and small touches (like the Pharmasept face sun cream and sun lotion provided to guests) make you feel truly taken care of.
What was your favorite part?
The hotel has a fleet of yachts and speed boats readily available to guests, and we’re still dreaming about the fantastic boat excursion on the Brabus Shadow 900—a new boat that provided a surprisingly comfortable ride on choppy seas. Our capable captain took us across the entire south coast of Mykonos, pointing out all the well-known beaches, clubs and restaurants, not to mention the beautiful scenery jutting out into the Aegean Sea.
Know before you go:
The resort is pitched into a steep hill, which means that moving about between your room, the pool/restaurant area and reception can be physically demanding. Thankfully, staff are constantly out and about in golf carts offering rides to wherever one needs to go (and in the unlikely event you don’t see someone nearby, they are just a What’sApp message away).
