The Chatwal provides a unique retreat for every type of traveler, but of course, the hotel’s location means easy access to some of Manhattan's most iconic attractions: Broadway, Central Park, Times Square and more. In that sense, it’s a smart homebase for being tourist—whether you’re a local catching a new show or you’re visiting the Big Apple for the first time.
What’s the food like?
With the legendary Lambs Club restaurant just steps from your room, dining is easy and delicious. In fact, with a pre-theater reservation, eating dinner before a show is an enjoyable experience with two- or three-course pre-fix meal options that get you fed and full without rushing before the curtains open. Even if you’re staying in, room service from The Lambs Club is as indulgent as dining in-house. But we all know breakfast sets the tone of the day, and with standout options like eggs and a Greek yogurt parfait topped with pistachios, honey, coconut and banana or lunch options like shrimp cocktail and hearty salads, you’ll feel much less inclined to hangry-buy those candied pecans in Times Square (but hey, you’re on vacation!).

No one ever said Times Square wasn’t bright or noisy, but our Garden Suite was a peaceful haven in 24/7 city. The room is blissfully quiet, with the added touch of an outdoor garden terrace—a rarity in Manhattan—that provides an extra layer of serenity. The plush, dark room creates the perfect cocoon for restful sleep, making it hard to believe you’re in one of the busiest parts of the city.

Every staff interaction, from the concierge to the housekeeping team, leaves guests feeling like their needs are met with genuine care and warmth, enhancing the overall calm atmosphere of the hotel.
What was your favorite part?
Stepping into the lobby is an immediate breath of fresh air—even if you’re going from outside to inside. The Art Deco design transports you to a quieter, more glamorous New York—an experience that’s hard to replicate in such a bustling neighborhood. This elegant entrance just starts a trip to NYC off in the right tone.
Know before you go:
The Chatwal is in prime position for shows and attractions, but Midtown’s traffic can be intense. If you’re exploring other parts of the city, be sure to allow extra travel time. For those staying local, though, there’s no better base for exploring the Theater District.
