Who should you bring?
Truly, anyone would have a great stay here but if you’re this close to Disney World then you probably have some little people in tow. And while you may not think of a Four Seasons as being particularly kid-friendly, the Four Seasons Resort Orlando at Walt Disney Resort is actually ideal for families. There’s Explorer Island—a five-acre water park featuring a lazy river, splash zone, family pool and water slides; a complimentary kids’ club for children ages 4 to 12; character breakfasts; family-friendly dining and plenty of children’s amenities such as cribs, noise machines, bed rails, rollaways and babysitting services upon request. Of course if you’re traveling sans kids, there’s lots for you to enjoy here too, including but not limited to an adults-only pool, fine dining and a luxe spa.
What’s the food like?
We love a Dole Whip as much as the next person, but you can’t subsist on sweet treats and fried food alone (and your kids definitely need a break from all that sugar). Four Seasons Resort Orlando at Walt Disney Resort has got you covered with multiple dining options, including our personal favorite PB&G, a casual eatery located poolside at Explorer Island water park (we dug the shrimp quesadillas and guac and chips). Kids will love Ravello, an Italian restaurant that offers handmade pasta and wood-fired pizzas, along with character breakfasts. For those traveling without kids (or, um, very well-behaved ones) there’s Capa—a Michelin-starred rooftop steakhouse and bar featuring breathtaking views and fresh seafood and Spanish-inspired tapas.
Did you get a good night’s sleep?
After a day of running around the park and enjoying the rides (and, OK, waiting in lines), you’ll want to kick back and relax. Rooms here are spacious and comfortable, with most of them offering beautiful views of the lush resort grounds. Equally luxurious are the bathrooms with their marble countertops and deep soaking tubs. In other words? We slept like a dream.
What amenities are available?
There’s Explorer Island, the Tranquilo Golf Club, a spa and fitness center, several dining options, complimentary kids' club and an adults-only pool.
What was your favorite part?
Yes, you’re here for Mickey but the fact that you’re going to want to save a day for the hotel pools and activities says a lot. It’s the perfect spot to unwind and get some much-needed R&R in between park days.
Know before you go:
Four Seasons Resort Orlando at Walt Disney Resort is only 20 minutes away from the airport and if you’re not renting a car (you don’t need one), Lyft has a partnership with Disney for “Minnie Vans” where they provide boosters and car seats in a Chevy Suburban decorated as Minnie. If you’re staying for multiple nights, be sure to make dinner reservations ahead of time. Finally, they have a Disney desk to help you sort all of your park plans and passes.
