A Review of Andronis Arcadia’s Captivating Island Retreat
Santorini Serenity
The Greek island of Santorini brings in throngs of visitors during the summer months, but it’s all cool and relaxing vibes at the Andronis Arcadia. This luxury resort in the village of Oia has a strong emphasis on wellness and will lure you in with its classic whitewashed buildings, modern art and breathtaking infinity pool. But it’s the impeccable service, outstanding spa and unforgettable sunsets (every single room faces west) that will have you dreaming about coming back here again and again and again.

Who should you bring?
Everyone knows that Santorini is for lovers, and the suites and villas at the Andronis offer a peaceful yet sophisticated retreat to canoodle with your one and only. While each suite opens onto a private terrace with its own pool and views of the Aegan Sea, we do recommend leaving your love nest on occasion—lounging by the impressive infinity pool is an idyllic way to while away an afternoon (there’s an all-day swim-up bar that will tend to your gastronomic needs) and the highly-walkable village of Oia beckons.
We visited the Adronis with two young children and are happy to report that it’s definitely one of the more family-friendly resorts in Santorini, relative to many of the caldera-facing destinations. There’s a two-bedroom family suite and large villa available that can accommodate up to 12 guests, although most standard suites can comfortably fit four people. Other family-friendly perks include kids’ yoga and spa treatments, kids’ pool gear, child-sized bath robes and kids’ menus.
What’s the food like?
Make sure to hit up the buzzy Pacman Sunset Restaurant in the evening for live music, Mediterranean cuisine (the Greek salad and red shrimp carpaccio were standout dishes), and those Instagram-famous sunsets, of course. The brand-new Beefbar offers similar sea views with a modern street-food inspired menu (think: Wagyu burgers and lobster tacos) in an earthy, bohemian-chic setting.
Did you get a good night’s sleep?
When there’s a pillow menu on offer, you know you’re in for a good night’s slumber. The simple yet stylish surroundings, polish plaster bathrooms and comfortable beds are just the icing on the cake.
What amenities are available?
whirlpools, in addition to a range of treatment options available). Gym buffs will enjoy the 24/7 fitness enter, as well as the many wellness activities on offer such as hiking along the bluff, cycling classes outside, meditation, beach yoga and more. Speaking of the beach, the Monarch Bay Beach Club is exclusively available to members and guests and has everything you need to surf the waves, paddle board, SUP and more. Or hey, if you’d just like to kick back on a beach chair with a glass of wine, then that’s cool too.
The aforementioned infinity pool is worth checking out, as is the Evexia Spa where we swear we could literally feel our aches and pains melt away during a full body massage (Santorini’s cobbled streets and many hills are beautiful for sure, but tough on the feet). The spa features an extensive menu and luxurious products, but don’t sleep on the Water Path, an L-shaped shallow pool with alternating hot and cold water and a bed of stones to ignite reflexology points (it sounds weird, but trust us—it’s worth trying).
How was the service?
The service was fast, friendly and attentive—exactly what you would expect from a luxury resort. Any request for more waters, towels, etc. was met promptly and pleasantly. Extra cool detail: You can communicate with the front desk via text message (so much easier than having to call down or visit the front desk IRL, no?).
What was your favorite part?
We could go on and on about the ultra-therapeutic massage we had, but we also want to shout out to the resort’s perfect location—it’s conveniently situated just a 5-minute walk from Oia with its many charming shops and breathtaking views of the caldera.
Know before you go:
Bring flat comfortable shoes—you’ll need them (although it’s worth noting that the resort is much easier to navigate than the caldera-facing resorts in Santorini).
